Zyprexa 5 mg Tablet

Zyprexa 5 mg Tablet

Name: Zyprexa 5 mg Tablets

description: ZYPREXA is a drug that contains olanzapine. Olanzapine is an atypical antipsychotic drug. This drug is used for schizophrenia, acute manic bipolar episodes and acute mixed bipolar episodes. This drug works as an antagonist at dopamine D2 receptors in the mesolimbic pathway, blocking the action of dopamine at postsynaptic receptors. Olanzapine binds weakly to the receptor, causing normal dopamine neutralization. This effect on D2 receptors results in a decrease in symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions as well as disorganization of speech, thoughts and actions. Olanzapine also works antagonistically on the serotonin 5HT2A receptor in the frontal cortex which causes a decrease in symptoms of anhedonia (loss of interest), flat affect (no emotional expression), and inattention. When using this medication, you must ACCORD TO THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS.
