Azithromycin is a macrolide, this drug works by inhibiting protein synthesis in bacteria by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit and preventing peptide translocation, so that bacterial growth will be inhibited. This drug is used for the treatment of infections caused by H. influenzae, M. catarrhalis, S. pneumoniae, H. influenzae, Chlamydia trachomatis, Legionella pneumophilia. When using this medicine, you MUST ACCORD TO THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS.
