description: ZITHRAX TABLET is an antibiotic drug containing Azithromycin. Azithromycin is a macrolide whose activity is against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. This drug works by binding to the 50s subunit of bacterial ribosomes, thereby inhibiting mRNA translation. In this way, protein synthesis will be disrupted so that bacterial growth will be hampered. This medication is used to treat infections caused by H. influenzae, M. catarrhalis, S. pneumoniae, C. pneumoniae, H. influenzae, Streptococcus pyogenes, S. aureus, or S. agalactiae. When using this medicine, you MUST ACCORD TO THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS.
