Name: Zibramax 500 mg 3 Tablets

description: ZIBRAMAX 500 MG TABLET is a macrolide antibiotic which has a broad spectrum, active against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. This drug works by binding to the 50s subunit of bacterial ribosomes, thereby inhibiting mRNA translation. In this way, protein synthesis will be disrupted so that bacterial growth will be hampered. This drug is used for infections caused by susceptible organisms, upper respiratory tract infections (tonsillitis, pharyngitis), lower respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia), skin & soft tissue infections, sexually transmitted diseases (Sexually Transmitted Disease), urethritis , cervicitis associated with Chlamydia trachomatis, Ureaplasma urealyticum and Neisseria gonorrhoea.

Azithromycin should not be given long-term to prevent bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome in patients with blood or lymph node cancer undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
