description: YASMIN contains drospirenone and ethinylestradiol which are oral contraceptives with antimineralocorticoid and antiandrogenic effects. Combined oral contraceptives (COCs) are based on the interaction of various factors, the most important of which are seen as inhibition of ovulation and changes in cervical secretions. Small amounts of contraceptive steroids and/or their metabolites may be excreted with milk.
