Xalkori is a drug containing crizotinib which is an oral kinase inhibitor that works by blocking the effects of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTK), such as ALK, hepatocyte growth factor receptor (HGFR, c-Met), ROS1 (c-ros), and Recepteur d'Origine Nantais (RON) which can be used to treat non-small cell lung cancer that has spread to other parts of the body and is caused by a defect in a gene called ALK (anaplastic lymphoma kinase) or a gene called ROS1. Purchasing this drug requires education regarding the appropriate and safe use or consumption of the drug which will incur a fee.

how_to_use: Take the medication as soon as possible, but do not miss a dose if the next dose must be taken in less than 6 hours. Do not take two doses at once. Xalkori is taken with or without food

side_effects: Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction to Xalkori: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Xalkori may cause serious side effects, including:

- Liver injury is life-threatening and can cause death. Your healthcare provider should perform blood tests to check your liver every 2 weeks for the first 2 months of treatment, then once a month or as recommended.
Tell your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following new or worsening symptoms:
- yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes
- decreased appetite
- severe fatigue
- pain on the right side of your stomach
- dark or brown urine (tea color)
- bleed or bruise more easily than usual
- nausea or vomiting
- itchy.

Warning: Xalkori can cause serious problems with the heart, lungs, or liver. Call your doctor immediately if you experience: fast or pounding heartbeat, sudden dizziness, shortness of breath, fatigue, itching, heartburn, dark urine, clay-colored stools, or jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).
