description: Vytorin contains a combination of the active substances Ezetimibe 10 mg and Simvastatin 10 mg from the statin group. Ezetimibe works by inhibiting fat absorption in the intestine. Ezetimibe can be used in single or combination therapy. When used alone it can reduce LDL by 18%, when used together with statins it can reduce LDL by around 12 -20%. Simvastatin is a statin drug or HMG-CoA Reductase Inhibitor which works by inhibiting the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme, an enzyme that plays a role in the formation of cholesterol so that cholesterol levels in the blood are reduced. When using this medication, you must ACCORD TO THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS.
