description: URESIX 40 MG TABLET is a drug containing Furosemide. Furosemide is a loop diuretic or strong diuretic drug. Diuretics are a group of drugs that increase the amount of urine that comes out of the kidneys. This drug works on the renal glomerulus by inhibiting the reabsorption of sodium by renal tubular cells, resulting in increased excretion of water, sodium, chloride and potassium without affecting normal blood pressure. This class of strong diuretic drugs is usually used in therapy in patients experiencing heart failure. In this condition, fluid builds up due to the heart being unable to pump blood throughout the body properly. Apart from that, Furosemide is also used to treat swelling or edema caused by liver disease and kidney disease. When using this medicine, you MUST ACCORD TO THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS.
