Like other statin drugs, this drug is used to prevent cardiovascular diseases such as coronary heart disease, patients with a history of angina or myocardial infarction, stroke or transient ischemic attacks. Discontinue use in cases where there is a clear increase in the CPK enzyme, diagnosed or suspected myopathy or have risk factors for kidney failure secondary to rhabdomyolysis. Immediately report any unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, especially if accompanied by feeling unwell or fever. Hemorrhagic stroke. Elderly.
