description: TORAS 8 is a drug containing Methylprednisolone which is a glucocorticoid drug derived from prednisolone which has a working effect by binding and activating intracellular glucocorticoid receptors, the activated glucocorticoid receptors bind to the DNA promoter region (which can activate or suppress transcription) and activate transcription factors which results in gene inactivation through histone deacetylation. This drug is indicated for allergic conditions and reducing inflammation or inflammation suppression. When using this medicine, you MUST ACCORD TO THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS. Side effects that may occur when using the drug are: Adrenal suppression, anaphylactoid reactions, immunosuppression, acute myopathy, Kaposi's sarcoma, psychiatric disorders (eg depression, euphoria, insomnia, mood changes, personality changes), increased susceptibility and severity of infections, impaired healing , HTN, Na and fluid retention, CV collapse (high dose), gastric ulcer, subcapsular cataract, skin atrophy, acne, muscle weakness, growth retardation, decreased blood K; dermal/subdermal skin depression at the inj site. Topical: Itching, burning erythema, vesiculation; rarely, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, perioral dermatitis, skin discoloration, allergic skin reactions.

Warning: MUST BE WITH A DOCTOR'S PRESCRIPTION.
Caution in patients w/ heart failure, hypertension, DM, GI disease (e.g. diverticulitis, intestinal anastomosis, gastric ulcer, ulcerative colitis), multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, acute myocardial infarction, cataract, glaucoma, osteoporosis, history of seizure disorder, disease thyroid. Avoid sudden dose changes. Kidney and liver disorders (including cirrhosis). Child. Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Monitor BP, blood glucose, electrolytes, growth in children.

Pregnancy Category: Category C: Possible risk.
