description: THERODEL 75 MG TABLET contains the active substance Clopidogrel, an anti-platelet drug in the thienopyridine group. This drug has an anti-platelet aggregation effect (blood platelets or platelets) and inhibits the formation of thrombus (blood clots that form on the walls of arteries and veins). The thrombus that forms can disrupt blood flow to the body's organs, potentially causing serious health problems, such as stroke and heart attack. Clopidogrel selectively inhibits the binding of Adenosine Di-Phosphate (ADP) to ADP receptors on platelets. Thus, it will inhibit ADP-mediated activation of the GPIIb/IIIa glycoprotein complex, resulting in inhibition of platelet aggregation and thrombus formation. Thus, Clopidogrel can reduce the incidence of atherosclerosis in high-risk patients, including patients who have a history of myocardial infarction and other symptoms of acute coronary syndrome, stroke, and peripheral arterial disease.
