Tell your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before using SOLIQUA, if:
- Suffering from type 1 diabetes, because SOLIQUA is used for type 2 diabetes so this drug is not right for you.
- Suffering from diabetic ketoacidosis (a complication of diabetes that occurs when the body cannot use glucose because there is not enough insulin), this drug is not right for you.
- Have serious disorders of the stomach or intestines such as a disease of the stomach muscles called gastroparesis which results in delayed gastric emptying. Because SOLIQUA can cause side effects on the stomach.
- Have kidney problems or you are on dialysis, therefore use is not recommended in these conditions.
Insulin use may affect the ability to drive or operate machinery. Increased susceptibility to hypoglycemia if there is a change in the injection area, increased insulin sensitivity, unusual physical activity, inadequate food intake, skipping meals, consuming alcohol, certain endocrine disorders, concomitant treatment with certain medications. Before using the product, visually inspect the product. If there is any cloudiness or discoloration of the product, do not use. Before injecting insulin, clean the skin (injection site) with alcohol. Do not inject medication in the same place continuously to prevent the risk of skin problems or damage. Insulin glulisine can be injected into the stomach, thigh or back of the upper arm. Do not inject into skin that has redness, swelling, itching, or wounds. Make sure the insulin is not cold when injected to prevent pain during injection. Do not inject insulin into blood vessels or muscles to avoid the risk of causing hypoglycemia. Do not share your pen device with other people to avoid the risk of transmitting infection.

Before using for the first time:
Store in the refrigerator (2C - 8C).
Do not freeze or place next to frozen storage compartment.
Store the pen in the outer cardboard packaging to protect from light.

After opening and using:
The pen can be stored for up to 28 days under room temperature (25C).
Do not return the pen to the refrigerator and do not freeze it.
Do not store the pen with the needle attached.
Keep away from direct light heat. Always put the pen cover on when you are not using it to protect from light.
