description: SOLINFEC is a drug that contains ketoconazole. Ketoconazole is an imidazole antifungal agent that works by inhibiting fungal CYP450 activity, thereby reducing ergosterol biosynthesis and inhibiting fungal cell membrane formation and also inhibiting several fungal enzymes.
This drug is used for dermatophyte infections of the skin or fingernails (not toenails), chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis that is unresponsive to nystatin and other drugs, systemic mycosis infections (candidiasis, paraxidioidomycosis, cocci dioidomycosis, hypoplasmosis). When using this medicine, you MUST ACCORD TO THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS.
