description: SLINDA is an oral contraceptive used to prevent pregnancy. This medicine contains the hormone drospirenone (progestin). In addition to preventing pregnancy, birth control pills can make your periods more regular, reduce blood loss and less pain during menstruation, and reduce the risk of ovarian cysts. Using this product does not protect you or your partner from sexually transmitted diseases (such as HIV, hepatitis B, gonorrhea, syphilis). To reduce the risk of infection, always use an effective barrier method (latex or polyurethane condom/dental dam) during sexual activity. how_to_use: Take the pill at the same time every day. Start taking the pills on the first day of your menstrual period. Continue taking one tablet daily. Do not miss any doses. Pregnancy is more likely if you miss a pill, or take the pill at a different time than usual.
Taking this medication after dinner or before bed may help if you experience stomach upset or nausea with the medication. Your pill pack contains 24 pills with the active medication. and 4 placebo pills (drugs without active substances). Take one active pill (with hormones) once a day for 24 consecutive days. Take a placebo pill once daily for 4 consecutive days after you take the last active pill unless otherwise directed by your doctor. After you have taken the last placebo pill in the pack or 4 days without taking active pills (with hormones), start a new pack the next day even if your period continues or if you do not have a period. If you don't get your period, consult your doctor.
side_effects: Nausea, vomiting, headache, bloating, breast tenderness, acne, or weight gain may occur. Vaginal bleeding between periods (spotting) or missed/irregular periods may occur, especially during the first few months of use. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly. If you miss 2 periods in a row (or 1 period if the pill was not used correctly), call your doctor for a pregnancy test.
This drug can increase your blood pressure. Check your blood pressure regularly and tell your doctor if the results are high.
Tell your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects, including: lumps in the breast, mental/mood changes (such as new/worsening depression), severe stomach/abdominal pain, symptoms of high blood potassium levels (such as muscle weakness, slow/irregular heartbeat), unusual changes in vaginal bleeding (such as continuous spotting, sudden heavy bleeding, missed periods), dark urine, yellowing of the eyes/skin.
Warning: Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially: adrenal gland problems, blood clots (e.g., in the legs, eyes, lungs), blood clotting disorders (such as protein C or protein S deficiency), abnormal breast examination, cancer (especially endometrial or breast cancer), depression, diabetes, severe headaches/migraines, heart problems (such as heart valve disease, irregular heartbeat, previous heart attack), history of yellowing eyes/skin (jaundice) during pregnancy or while using hormonal contraceptives (such as pills, patches), kidney disease, liver disease (including tumors), stroke, swelling (edema), unexplained vaginal bleeding.
Smoking increases the risk of stroke, heart attack, blood clots, and high blood pressure from hormonal birth control (such as pills, patches, rings).
If you have diabetes, this drug may affect your blood sugar. Check your blood sugar regularly as directed and share the results with your doctor. Your doctor may need to adjust your diabetes medications, exercise program, or diet.
Tell your doctor if you have recently had or are about to have surgery. This condition increases your risk of developing blood clots, especially if you use hormonal contraception.
