description: SINGULAIR TABLET is an asthma medication containing Montelukast Sodium 10 mg. This drug is used to prevent wheezing and shortness of breath caused by asthma, as well as reducing the possibility of an asthma attack. Singulair is also used before exercise to prevent breathing problems during exercise. Montelukast works by blocking leukotrine which can cause or worsen asthma and allergies. This reduces swelling/inflammation in the respiratory tract, making it easier to breathe. When using this medicine, you MUST ACCORD TO THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS. side_effects: Upper respiratory tract infection, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting; increased serum transaminase levels (ALT, AST); skin rash; pyrexia.

Should not be used to treat acute asthma attacks. Do not switch suddenly to inhaled corticosteroids or oral corticosteroids.
