Sagestam contains Gentamicin, which belongs to the aminoglycoside class of antibiotics which is widely used, especially to treat infections caused by gram-negative bacteria, such as Pseudomonas, Proteus, Serratia, and Staphylococcus. Gentamicin is also used for septicemia (blood poisoning by pathogenic bacteria and/or substances produced by these bacteria), meningitis (inflammation of the lining of the brain), urinary tract infections, respiratory tract, digestive tract, infections of the skin, bones and soft tissue.
