description: RANIVEL SYRUP is a medicine used to treat diseases caused by excess production of stomach acid, such as stomach ulcers and gastric ulcers. Ranivel contains ranitidine which works by competitively inhibiting the action of histamine H2 receptors, which play an important role in gastric acid secretion. Inhibition of H2 receptors causes stomach acid production to decrease both at rest and when stimulated by food, histamine, pentagastrin, caffeine and insulin. This drug is used for gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers, reflux esophagitis, chronic episodic dyspepsia, ulcers due to NSAIDs, duodenal ulcers due to H.pylori, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, other conditions where stomach acid is reduced. When using this medication, you must ACCORD TO THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS.
