Side effects that may occur when using the drug are: Erythema, peeling skin, dry skin, pruritus, burning/stinging feeling, skin irritation, sunburn, and acne flares.

Discontinue use if hypersensitivity or chemical irritation occurs. Use non-comedogenic & non-astringent cosmetics. Avoid moisturizers that contain a-hydroxy or glycolic acids. Reduce the frequency of application or discontinue use, depending on the severity of side effects. Minimize sun exposure, including sunlight during treatment. Patients who experience high levels of sun exposure & are sensitive to the sun. Use sunscreen products & protective clothing on the treated area. Extreme weather such as wind or cold can disturb the patient. Avoid contact with eyes, lips, corners of nose & mucous membranes. Eye exposure may cause reactions such as swelling, conjunctivitis & eye irritation. Not for use on wounds, abrasions, eczema, or sunburned skin, nor should it be used on patients with severe acne, or acne that involves large areas of the body. Wax epilation should not be performed due to the potential for skin erosion. Not for use in women of childbearing age & during pregnancy, breastfeeding mothers and children <12 years.
