description: NASONEX NASAL SPRAY contains mometasone furoate. Used for the treatment of seasonal or perennial rhinitis symptoms in adults, adolescents & children 2-11 years. Prophylactic treatment in patients with a history of moderate to severe symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis. Symptomatic treatment of acute rhinosinusitis in a 12-year-old patient with no signs or symptoms of severe bacterial infection. Nasal polyps & associated symptoms including congestion & loss of smell in an 18 yr patient. Adjuvant therapy with antibiotics for acute episodes of sinusitis in adults & adolescents 12 yrs. When using this medicine, you MUST ACCORD TO THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS. Active or quiescent TB infection of the respiratory tract, or in untreated systemic fungal, bacterial, viral or ocular herpes simplex infections. Stop use if local fungal infection occurs in the nose & pharynx. Transfer from long-term systemic active corticosteroid administration to Nasonex nasal spray. Should not be used in recent rhinoplasty or trauma. Signs of bacterial infection (fever, persistent unilateral facial/dental pain, orbital or periorbital facial swelling or worsening of symptoms after initial improvement). Pregnancy & lactation. Children & teenagers <18 years.
