description: MIERIN TABLET is a drug that contains the active ingredient ezetimibe 10 mg. This drug can be used alone or in combination with other drugs to treat hypercholesterolemia. This drug works by localizing in the brush border of the small intestine and inhibiting cholesterol absorption through the sterol transporter, Niemann-Pick C1-Like1 (NPC1L1). This leads to decreased delivery of cholesterol to the liver, reduced hepatic cholesterol stores and increased clearance of cholesterol from the blood.
