Lantus XR Solostar Insulin Pen 1.5 ml

Name: Lantus XR Solostar Insulin Pen 1.5 ml

description: LANTUS XR is a sterile injection preparation containing Insulin Glargine. This insulin injection is used subcutaneously. Insulin Glagine is an analogue of human recombinant insulin or man-made insulin with activity similar to natural insulin in the human body. Insulin Glargine is a long-acting insulin with a glucose-lowering action duration of 24 hours. This product is used to control high blood sugar levels in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus and type 2 diabetes mellitus who have undergone treatment with lifestyle changes and anti-diabetic drugs but cannot achieve the desired target of reducing blood sugar levels. This drug works to lower blood sugar levels by stimulating peripheral glucose uptake, especially skeletal muscle and adipose tissue, and inhibiting hepatic glucose production. Insulin inhibits adipocyte cell lipolysis, proteolysis and increases protein synthesis. When using this medication, you must ACCORD TO THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS. Purchasing this drug requires education regarding the appropriate and safe use or consumption of the drug which will incur a fee.

In patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, Lantus XR can also be given together with other anti-hyperglycemia medicinal products.
Always use this medicine according to your doctor's instructions. The doctor may ask you to use LANTUS XR at a different dose to the insulin dose you used previously. Ask your doctor, pharmacist or nurse if you are not sure.

side_effects: Hypoglycemia (blood sugar levels below normal limits), local reactions at the injection site and hypersensitivity reactions (eg skin redness).

Warning: MUST BE WITH A DOCTOR'S PRESCRIPTION.
- Lantus XR is not the insulin of choice for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis. Instead, regular insulin administered intravenously is recommended in such cases.
- If glucose control is inadequate or a tendency to hyper- or hypoglycemia, patient compliance with the prescribed treatment regimen, injection site and appropriate injection technique and all other pertinent factors should be reviewed before dosage adjustments are considered.
- Be careful when using insulin in patients with impaired liver function, impaired kidney function, patients with significant stenosis of the coronary arteries or blood vessels supplying the brain (risk of cardiac or cerebral complications due to hypoglycemia), proliferative retinopathy, elderly over 65 years of age, women pregnant, breastfeeding women, and children under 18 years of age.
