description: LANACER contains omeprazole which is included in the proton pump inhibitors (PPI) group. Omeprazole has the effect of reducing stomach acid production. This drug is used for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions caused by increased stomach acid such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Emoprazole is also used for peptic ulcers caused by H. Pylori in combination therapy. Omeprazole is the S-isomer of omeprazole which works by inhibiting the hydrogen-potassium adenosine triphosphatase enzyme system (proton pump) of gastric parietal cells. This inhibition causes inhibition of gastric acid secretion. When using this medication, you must ACCORD TO THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS.
