description: JARDIANCE contains emplaglifozin which is a reversible inhibitor of sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) and works by reducing reabsorption of filtered glucose and lowering the renal threshold for glucose, resulting in increased urinary glucose excretion, thereby reducing blood glucose concentrations. Jardiance is used as additional combination therapy with metformin, sulfonylurea and/or pioglitazone in adult patients with type 2 DM to improve glycemic control when diet and exercise alone are inadequate. When using this medication, you must ACCORD TO THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS.
