description: GLUCOVANCE 1.25 MG/250 MG TABLET is an anti-diabetic drug containing Glibenclamide 1.25 mg and Metformin HCl 250 mg. Metformin is a biguanide class of drug which has anti-hyperglycemic effects which can reduce basal and postprandial blood glucose. This drug does not stimulate insulin secretion so it does not cause hypoglycemia effects. Glibenclamide is a second generation sulfonylurea drug which can reduce blood glucose by stimulating the release of insulin in the pancreas.
