description: FONYLIN MR TABLET is a Modified Release tablet preparation containing Gliclazide which is included in the sulfonylurea class of anti-diabetic drugs. This drug is used in patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus or Non-Insulin-Dependent (type II) Diabetes Mellitus (NIDDM) where blood glucose levels cannot be controlled solely by diet, exercise and weight loss alone. Gliclazide works by increasing the release of insulin in the blood which is produced by pancreatic beta cells. When using this medicine, you MUST ACCORD TO THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS.
