description: EZETROL contains Ezetimib 10 mg. Ezetimib localizes to the border of the small intestine and inhibits cholesterol absorption, leading to decreased intestinal delivery of cholesterol to the liver. This leads to a decrease in liver cholesterol stores and an increase in cholesterol clearance from the blood. This drug is used to lower total cholesterol, LDL, apoliprotein B and triglycerides and increase HDL in primary hypercholesterolemia patients.
