description: EPISAN SUSPENSION 100 ML contains sulcralfate. This drug is used to treat ulcers in the duodenum. Sucralfate works by forming a protective layer on the ulcer to protect it from acids, bile salts and digestive enzymes that can make the wound worse. It is hoped that this protective layer will help speed up the ulcer healing process.
Sucralfate can cure ulcers in 3 ways:
1. Forms a chemical complex that binds to the center of the ulcer, so that a protective layer can be formed.
2. Inhibits the action of acid, pepsin, and bile salts.
3. Inhibits stomach acid from penetrating the protective layer of sucralfate-albumin.
EPISAN SUSPENSION 100 ML should only be consumed for short-term treatment, namely for four to eight weeks. When using this medicine, you MUST ACCORD TO THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS.
