description: DOXICOR 100 MG 10 CAPSULES contains the active substance Doxycycline. This drug is used in the therapy and treatment of Syphilis, susceptible or severe infections, Epididymo-orchitis, Acute attacks of chloroquine-resistant falciparum malaria, fever or typhus, Nongonococcal urethritis, Sexually transmitted diseases, Gonorrhea uncomplicated, Scrub typhus prophylaxis, Treatment and post-exposure prophylaxis of inhalation anthrax, Leptospirosis, Diarrhea, Prevention of malaria, periodontitis and acne.

Side effects that may occur when using the drug are: Stomatitis, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dyspepsia, stomach ache, pancreatitis. Significant: Microbial overgrowth including fungus, pseudomembranous colitis, esophagitis, esophageal ulceration, benign intracranial hypertension, tooth discoloration, enamel hypoplasia, photosensitivity, exfoliative dermatitis, erythema multiforme, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms, Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction (if with spirochete infection). Rare: transient increase in LFTs, porphyria.

Monitoring Parameters before treatment, perform sensitivity test. Monitor CBC, LFT and renal function.
Use with caution in patients with concomitant venereal disease, myasthenia gravis, SLE. Liver and kidney disorders.
