description: DEXYCLAV FORTE SYRUP is a combination antibiotic drug of Amoxicillin 250 mg and Clavulanic Acid 62.5 mg. Amoxicillin works by destroying peptidoglycan which protects bacterial cell walls. When bacteria divide, amoxicillin works to inhibit the formation of peptidoglycan so that the bacteria lyse and die. Meanwhile, Clavulanic Acid is a substance that can inhibit the formation of beta-lactamase which is produced by bacteria to protect itself from attacks by penicillin-type antibiotics such as amoxicillin. The combination of amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid makes co-amoxiclav effective in overcoming bacterial attacks of various types, including bacteria that are resistant to amoxicillin. When using this medicine, you MUST ACCORD TO THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS.
