Desoxymethasone is a corticosteroid drug which has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic (relieves itching) and vasoconstrictive effects. This drug works by suppressing the formation, release and activity of inflammatory mediator compounds (quinine, histamine, liposomal enzymes, prostaglandins) through induction of phospholipase A2 inhibitory proteins (lipocortins), followed by inhibition of the release of arachidonic acid.
