Patients should be advised to immediately report any complaints of unexplained muscle pain, weakness or muscle cramps, especially if accompanied by fever or symptoms of feeling unwell. Monitor for increased creatinine kinase levels. Patients with shared predisposing factors with gembrozil. Doses above 40 mg are contraindicated for use with fibrates. Advanced age > 70 years.
