description: COXIRON is a drug containing Etoricoxib. This drug is used to relieve signs of osteoarthritis, chronic neuromusculoskeletal (nerve, muscle, ligament, joint) pain, and acute pain during dental surgery. Etoricoxib is included in the NSAID group which has anti-inflammatory (anti-inflammatory), analgesic (anti-pain) and antipyretic (relieves fever) activities. Etoricoxib is a potent, orally active and highly selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor. Two COX isoforms have been identified, namely COX-1 and COX-2. Inhibition of the COX-1 pathway by non-selective NSAIDs can result in gastric damage and platelet inhibition. Etoricoxib exerts a dose-dependent inhibitory effect on COX-2 without affecting the COX-1 pathway at doses up to 150 mg per day. When using this medication, you must ACCORD TO THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS.
