Cotrim Forte 10 Kaplet

Name: Cotrim Forte 10 Caplets

description: Cortrim Forte is an antibiotic tablet containing Trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole.
Sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim is an antibacterial combination that inhibits 2 consecutive steps in the biosynthesis of purines and nucleic acids essential for bacteria.
Sulfamethoxazole, an intermediate-acting sulfonamide, interferes with bacterial folic acid synthesis and growth by competitive inhibition of the formation of dihydrofolic acid from para-aminobenzoic acid.
Trimethoprim, a diaminopyrimidine, inhibits the reduction of dihydrofolic acid to tetrahydrofolate causing sequential inhibition of folic acid pathway enzymes.
These two drugs are antibiotics used to treat infections caused by susceptible bacteria, especially those in the urinary, respiratory and digestive tracts.
