description: AMADIAB TABLET is an anti-diabetic drug containing Glimepiride which is included in the sulfonylurea group. AMADIAB is used as an anti-diabetes mellitus type 2 or Non-Insulin-Dependent (type II) Diabetes Mellitus (NIDDM) where blood glucose levels cannot be controlled by diet and exercise alone. This drug works by lowering blood sugar levels by stimulating the release of insulin from functioning pancreatic beta cells. This drug can also increase the sensitivity of peripheral tissues to insulin. AMADIAB is used as sole therapy or in combination with other oral anti-diabetic drugs or insulin. When using this medicine, you MUST ACCORD TO THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS. Side effects that may occur when using the drug are:
- Gastrointestinal disorders, such as vomiting, stomach pain and diarrhea.

- Metabolic disorders in the form of hyponatremia.
- Changes in accommodation and/or blurred vision.
- Hematological reactions such as leukopenia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, hemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia and pancytopenia.
