description: Actos is a drug containing Pioglitazone. Pioglitazone is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. This drug is combined with sulfonylurea or metformin in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who are not controlled by sulfonylurea or metformin monotherapy. Pioglitazone works by reducing insulin resistance, activating specific nuclear receptors, which will increase insulin sensitivity in the liver, fat tissue and skeletal muscle cells. When using this medicine, you MUST ACCORD TO THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS.
